In the Eleventh Hour

By John Watson

We will all remember the Eleventh

Sad images; the black plume billowing.

While brave Liberty stood alone in the harbor,

And valiantly raised Her torch ever higher

She made certain all of us, like God, could see

The evil horror happening below

And for each who viewed that proud skyline

And remembers how proudly they stood

Those Towers and the cherished Beloved within them

Caused our hearts grow prouder, stronger and more free

We will remember their sacrifice forever, and,

In their brave memory, carry on our battle for Good.
